     R. Alex Murray is a Brooklyn based Actor, Comedian, and Musician. Growing up in Rome, Georgia he took to the stage at a young age acting and singing in local and church productions. He graduated from Darlington High School in 2002 where he participated in every performance based art he could find. He also played and sang in local bands. Both passions followed him to college at Sewanee: The University of the South where he studied acting under David Landon, spent a summer at the British American Drama Academy at Balliol College in Oxford England, and played bass in a jam band that went by about fifteen different names in four years.  He graduated with majors in English and Theatre concentrating on Epic poetry and classical theatre. After college Alex sort of drifted down to Nashville, which is an excellent place to drift.

There, he began acting professionally at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre, Nashville Shakespeare, and others while continuing to write and perform music. After filling his late twenties with some great highs and incredible lows it was time for a calculated move. New York City. He sold most of his possesions, grabbed his guitar, flew into LaGuardia and got down to business in Brooklyn. He helped to open and build Backyard Bar in Park Slope. He fell into children's entertainment as a member of Brother Hamm and the American Cheese, a children's bluegrass trio. They released their eponymous EP in September of 2015. The Cheese ended when Brother Hamm moved back to Alabama, but Alex continues to entertain children as Dr. Alex all over New York. He also performs and produces Stand Up comedy with his friends Paul and Amanda as Wine and Sleaze. Look for his starring television debut as the character "Alex" in "Millenniums" streaming on Amazon Prime.  He is proudly signed with Andreadis Talent.
